Quite simply because he has chosen a completely changed side to that we saw on Thursday, bar Hennessy who was a given. To call a player up for international duty and then ignore him in a meaningless game where he can be assessed and gain experience and be ignored would open up Page for criticism he doesn’t need.
Especially when a player like Colwill earned a cap whose progression professionally is behind Cabango. This would again open up Page for negative comments regards alleged favouritism to Cardiff.

One or two poor passes early on and could have done better for the goal (so could other players) but made a number of first touch attacking passes throughout the game. Made plenty of headed clearances.
Morrell made so many errors but was praised!
Norrington makes a few outstanding actions but generally weak as was Ampadu.
Montando was an improved player.
Johnson was a worthy MOM.

Cabango is the new Ashley Williams big strong tough gradually learning his trade. The 11 min foul up looked bad for Cabango but actually was the result of Vaulks or Morrell passing 5 m off line where Cabango was expecting a direct pass. Welsh passing was poor until they found a bit of rhythm. Still only 21 as is Ethan Ampadu.
The Welsh back 4 was identical to the back four that played Mexico 12 months ago . Cabango had a shakey start then but responded with a great performance against Lozano a forward from Napoli. It was a feisty proper game. Big Ben got some racial online abuse and brushed it off and got on with his job.

Heavy footed, slow to get those heavy trunks moving. Always looks startled, zero composure. Our weakest link, by some distance. Exacerbates our Achilles heel. Plays on his heels, not his toes (proper schoolboy error).
He lost his man for their goal, a midfielder in our box, at the heart of our defence.. With Cabango all at sea, on his heavy backside. Inexcusable.
